I have not found any good items, other than a Major Protection Rune, in a few weeks. They need to focus on enhancing the game they created instead of destroying aspects of it. It's like witnessing someone build the biggest skyscraper ever, then demolishing it because property tax was too high to maintain it... I WANT MY FARMING BACK!

How often do you expect to see Superior Vigor? First, it's a superior rune, and then only one out of many different kinds.

For data purposes, I've played hundreds of hours (maybe a thousand total? probably like 600-800?), and not seen a Superior Vigor Rune. But I've seen other Superior Runes. I'm not complaining, I don't expect more.

I know I could have bought a Superior Vigor by now if I'd saved all my money for it.

Well sorry guys but life is about earning what you get and A-Net/Devs just aren't going to hand it out on a silver platter. Heck the last nerf took some of the farming away, you think they are going to turn right around and give it back? They took it away for a reason and it musta been a pretty good one or they wouldn't have lowered the ability to make phat loot so easily.

Most of these pages are the same people over and over, there's really not a hand-drop compared to the WHOLE world of GW's to even give it recognistion like I'm sure many want.

Same with nerfing Droknars and making it for ascended players only. It's a highly talked about change/nerf, but, hardly an inkling of the whole majority of players that play GW's.

We are just the vocal few, and as I've been told by DEVS before (Matrix games, Triumph Studios), they will read what we have to say, but, our input is only 1% to 2% affective on their decisions. Not a very high percentage at all. So we basically just argue with ourselves as the Devs do pretty much what they want, since it is their design, their game, their baby. If you want a better game, make it yourself, but, I'm sure there will be a horde of complainers and whiners no matter what you make.

Sonya, you are bloody hilarious. And no, that's not a compliment.

We're talking about ALL PvE.

Moron.

You must play PvE to have a chance at PvP, last time I checked. So we're talking about something that affects

I don't know what your deal is. Do you read one post per page? Do you have memory problems? This thread includes everyone from hardcore farmers to once a week mission-only players.

...Damn man, you are thick.

One way to fix the rune drop problem: Have a 1-1-1-1 ratio on all white-blue-purple-gold armor drops. That is, you have a 25% chance of getting a particular color drop. To make it even easier, fix the ratio to have none-minor-major-superior, 100% chance. By this method, one or two character can unlock all runes all levels by the end of the game.
And also, cut the stone summit badge and mursaat token drop rate down to 1/50 drops.

god I wish I had time to read every page of this, but let me just say from what I have read, arenanet is buggering their "baby".

I am a new player. as in, I just bought the game 2 months ago, I'm just at the last couple missions now, and I have not been able to afford a single piece of ascension armor. I have tried to play PvE the way it was meant to be played, straight through as an RPG, I sell/salvage as much as I can, and I've even spent a day or two helping guildmates and other people run missions, and I am still broke. I have 9k. I haven't found a single easy/decent way to make gold anywhere. And every time I even try to go play in the HoH I get beat down by some botter who has a full set of ascension armor.

PvP and the HoH are the only things really keeping me in the game at this point, no monthly fee or not, and I can't even have fun in those, because I can't afford the fancy armor. the whole faction thing is nice, but hell even that will take weeks to unlock a single rune. minors for 1000 faction? gimme a god damn break.

anyways I gotta get back to work, but let me close with a couple kicks to the teeth of anet

"We killed the boredom of spawn camping"'
"We eliminated pointless fights against experience"

You lied.

(yep an it includes me as well, I'm not to be excluded just because you don't like or agree with my opinion bud).

Lol name calling will do you no good either or get anything you want, just makes you look childish and immature. If you had read my post and comprehended it (which you didn't), you would have read that everyone is different. I don't want what you want and you don't care what I want. lol Well that can be a two way street, so I'm voicing the other side of the street.

As far as PVE, yeah, you should play it, but, you don't have to master it to be good in PVP. I know, I've only unlocked a few select skills and I'm praised for my ability to stand in battles with my builds, while others fall like rain. I've made upwards of 30000 faction points already and I haven't played 1/3rd of the PVE game, but, 15k armor isn't important to the PVP game not one bit.

Playing PVE doesn't require large amounts of coin either to be a success. Just today (solo) I earned 10k in a few hours. By my book that's excellent income and I'm only lvl 18 with the character I'm playing with. If people would quit complaining and actually go out there and adventure they would find the good loot drop areas. There's plenty of them out there. I know excellent spots. So, to me the drop rate and income is well over what I would expect and I applaud the DEVS for making it more of an adventure instead of a cake walk or handing it to everyone on a silver platter. I didn't find these spots in a day, I adventured for them over time, about a months worth of play. I don't see that as a problem for anyone. And I rarely even sell items to other players, mostly just sell it to the merchants and get right back out there making more plat.

Good gaming to all though hope to cya in the arenas heh

*Waves the flaming flag and walks off laughing*

Well hasn't this pleasantly degenerated into the playground, "I know you are but what am I!" flame fest

To the topic at hand. Any word on when the next update will be? I'm assuming that if any changes to the drop rates are to occur, it will happen after the summer PvE expansion (tho I would be pleasantly surprised if they changed it that soon!).

Just for some info here. I changed my setup a bit and farmed some new areas. In about...well, no more than 2 hours of farming I think 8-10 golds dropped. Couple earth wands, fire staff, aegis, hammer, bow...another wand (going from memory, not storage ;p ). The first run had about 3-4. Next was pretty similar. Third saw 1. After that it was all whites with the occasional blue. Of those golds, two were worth keeping, tho neither would be useful for a monk. The rest were crap. Oh, and there was yet another no-mod purple in there. Love those. So now I can scratch off 3 more areas where I won't find any good golds...and I still haven't found any good gold for my monk...heck, I'd be happy if I could find a +4 head and +1x% longer enchantment upgrades to salvage! I've even taken to the WTB forum here to find those...with no luck. I don't want to buy my items...I want to find them! But even when I've given up looking and turned to buying, I still can't get non-perfect upgrades. But oh no, the drop rate is perfect just as it is...

[But oh no, the drop rate is perfect just as it is...]

Now, I think we are getting onto something that can be agreed with in that drop rates are fine, it's the "types" of drops for the class adventuring that are strange. I too find myself finding gold drops for casters and I'm melee. I get bows and staffs and wands, and it's rare to get a great sword/axe or shield. So, there I can agree with you. While I don't have a problem with the drop "rate". I too would like to see more of those drops of the "type" of class/character that I am.
